Oct. 1 and 2 I got to visit with the 6th graders at Kennedy Middle School (there are 600 of them!) and shared what it’s like to be a writer. I also showed them my 3,000-year-old bronze dagger, Egyptian alabaster jar, and Phoenician coin. We met in small groups of 60 so the students would have more “hands on” time with the artifacts. We also talked about having dreams and the persistence needed to pursue those dreams. One of the students was wearing the top in the above picture, and I pointed it out as a great slogan for what we were talking about. The next day she brought the shirt back so I could take a picture of it. What a sweet student!
